On Nov. 11, SVG’s second-annual Venue Technology Summit grew to the scale of the new Cowboys Stadium. Greeted by 160-ft.-wide, high-definition renderings of the logos of SVG and its event sponsors, more than 200 SVG members were treated to a day of information and education throughout the sparkling new facility in Arlington, TX. The Sports Video Group and its members and sponsors were given the chance to go behind the scenes of the new Cowboys Stadium. Hosted by the Dallas Cowboys, attendees were privy to a series of in-depth panels and workshops.

Stadiums continue to become more fan friendly but how about broadcaster friendly? The Sports Video Group has undertaken a series of initiatives to bring broadcasters and venue architects closer together, including recommendations on proper truck bay design, power requirements, and most recently designing safe camera platforms. SVG members discuss the current state of venue design and ways to make them safer and better for broadcasters.
