Michael Jackson Changed Super Bowl Halftime Shows

Richard Sandomir of The New York Times examined the late Michael Jackson’s impact on the Super Bowl, saying that when the King of Pop was the halftime performer for Super Bowl XXVII between the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, the ratings for NBC’s halftime show were higher than those for the first half of the actual game.
