AmberFin has released Version 4.6 for its iCR ingest, Transcode and automatic QC software. New features include compression pre processing, motion compensated frame rate conversion, live in and out capture for scheduling live recordings, transcoding during ingest, and two-pass VC-1, WM9, and h.264 to optimize image quality.
“AmberFin iCR software continues to grow in breadth and depth,” says Jeremy Deaner, CEO of AmberFin, “no other product offers iCR’s unique combination of image quality, operational efficiency and ‘right first time’ automatic integrated QC.”
The new system also features content protection, adding watermarks during transcoding using integrated Civolutions tools. Many new codecs and wrappers have also been added, including native support for Avid DNxHD and for Apple Final Cut Pro QuickTime uncompressed. Other codec improvements include Dolby D and extended support of native P2, XDCAM and Avid Op Atom MXF.
“First installations are already in live production,” says Peter Elleby, VP of engineering at AmberFin. “We’re delighted to be able to provide our customers with access to this major new functionality.”
