PMTV and the Philadelphia Eagles Television Network (ETN) have teamed up again to bring viewers network-level coverage of the Eagles’ preseason games. Game coverage includes two home games (8/13 vs. Patriots, 8/27 vs. Jaguars) and one away game (9/3 at Jets). PMTV is also providing the mobile unit, TV crew, transmission, telcom, and closed captioning services for the Aug 27 visiting Jaguars Broadcast.
Fox Sports director Artie Kempner will also be joining the 2009 ETN broadcast team.
“Working with the director of Super Bowl XLII is a challenging and exciting proposition,” says Rob Schmoll, PMTV project manager for the telecasts. “Everyone’s expectations are very high. Add in the extremely creative pre-produced elements that Rob Alberino [Eagles VP broadcasting and ETN executive producer] and his ETN staff create year after year, and I suspect there may be a few more Emmy Trophies on the ETN & PMTV bookshelves next year.”
ETN has won more than 100 Emmy Awards for Eagles-related media productions, including eight wins in the Live Sports Series category for ETN/PMTV Eagles Preseason broadcasts.
For the Eagles Broadcast, PMTV has contracted Game Creek Video’s FX HD Production System mobile facilities. FX HD was created to provide facilities for the Super Bowl and Daytona 500, among other high-profile events. FX HD’s standard complement is 17 Sony HDC 1500 cameras, 10 EVS XT2s, and Calrec Alpha Bluefin and Sigma audio consoles.
“We have a great relationship with Game Creek and they consistently deliver quality mobile facilities and engineers for PMTV events,” Schmoll says.
