The University of Alabama at Birmingham will upgrade Bartow Arena, Young Memorial Field, and the new on-campus softball complex with integrated scoring and video-display systems to be designed, manufactured, and installed by Daktronics.
Bartow Arena, which hosts Blazer men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball, will feature a large center-hung display overlooking the court, with four eight-foot-high-by 12-foot-wide LED video screens using 10-millimeter resolution. Daktronics LED video boards can operate as single large displays or be divided into multiple zones (windows) to show a wide variety of statistics, information, graphics, animations, and live and recorded video.
LED ring displays will be installed above and below the video screens, providing fans with in-game information, out-of-town scores, promotional messages, and crowd prompts. UAB sponsors will also have opportunities to get their messages across through motion graphics and other content.
Young Memorial Field, home to UAB baseball, will get a 14-foot-high-by-20-foot-wide LED video display providing all essential game information, as well as identification and sponsorship opportunities.
And the new on-campus softball complex will boast a Daktronics 14-foot-high-by-17-foot-wide video display, a scoreboard, sponsor panels, and identification displays.
