Sports fans will soon be one step closer to the sidelines as Zaxcom and Bexel have developed a new audio transmitter, which enables broadcast teams to transmit coaches’ live comments during televised games.
Zaxcom’s TRX900 digital wireless transmitter will allow broadcasters to tap into a live audio feed of coaches throughout the game while also allowing coaches to mute the microphone with an easy-to-use on-off toggle for more “discreet conversations.”
“With our audio transmission solution, viewers can now get great insight into game strategy and better appreciate how coaches and players react in certain situations,” says Zaxcom president Glenn Sanders. “At the same time, Bexel has made it really easy for the coaches to block anything they don’t want heard on national television.”
In addition to a quarter-inch toggle switch with mute capability, the transmitter is digitally encrypted to guarantee that private conversations cannot be hacked by unwanted outsiders.
“The Zaxcom TRX900 offered the perfect solution because of its extremely small, lightweight profile and its ability to be digitally encrypted,” says Lee Estroff, Bexel’s director of technical sales. “I can think of no other product on the market that could have met all of our client’s criteria.”
