Cobalt Releases First in Series of Audio Loudness Solutions

As the first step in an expanded loudness processing product line to be unveiled over the coming months, Cobalt Digital has released the Audio Loudness Meter (OPT-SW-LM) to provide broadcasters with a flexible solution to accurately measure on-air loudness.

As inconsistent audio loudness and ASTC A/85 standards become more and more of an industry-mandated issue, stations will need products to more efficiently meter and asses loudness levels. Cobalt hopes to cater to these stations with a full line of loudness processing solutions that will be introduced throughout 2010.

The OPT-SW-LM features true peak level detection, error tracking and logging, and an intuitive interface with touch screen control. It also ensures thorough audio level and LKFS assessment information. The software is ATSC A/85 and ITU BS.1770 compliant, and is compatible with Cobalt 9000 series audio cards and the Cobalt OGCP-9000 remote control panel.
