Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area has announced that it will produce all San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors games in HD in 2010. In addition, CSN California will deliver all San Jose Sharks and Oakland Athletics games in HD in 2010. This marks a 70% increase in HD games from 2009, as the two networks will deliver over 180 additional games in HD in 2010.
“Comcast SportsNet is committed to delivering the ultimate viewing experience for Bay Area sports fans with the region’s most comprehensive HD telecast schedule featuring local teams,” says Ted Griggs, VP and GM of CSN Bay Area. “As the local leader in sports HD, we are thrilled to present our viewers with a robust 2010 HD schedule from the first pitch on opening day, to the puck-drop and tip-off on opening night.
CSN Bay Area and CSN California already produce almost all of their studio programming in HD as well as select Cal, Stanford, and Pac-10 basketball and football games. More live events will also be made available on Comcast Digital Cable’s ON DEMAND Channel 1 next year.
