Comcast SportsNet Chicago, the cable home of the Chicago Blackhawks, will add 18 live “best of” out-of-market games to its 2010 schedule. Comcast RSNs have been airing out-of-market games in this manner since Comcast-owned Versus obtained the national TV rights to the NHL five seasons ago. Most CSN networks air between 12 and 24 out-of-market games per year.

The Blackhawks’ return to dominance over the past three seasons have provided CSN Chicago with a 155% increase in Blackhawks game ratings over that time span.

The first installment of CSN Chicago’s “best of” package will feature the Detroit Red Wings visiting the San Jose Sharks on Saturday, Jan. 9.
