CSN Mid-Atlantic Pegs O’Halloran as Redskins Insider

Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic has brought on veteran sports reporter Ryan O’Halloran as its Redskins Insider, covering the team exclusively for the network’s digital media platforms, highlighted by CSNwashington.com.

O’Halloran, who has covered the Redskins for six seasons, will provide comprehensive daily coverage of the Redskins throughout the year, reporting extensively on all aspects of the team. His in-depth coverage of the team, which will include news, analysis and opinion, will be featured across CSN’s digital platforms, including CSNwashington.com and the network’s mobile and social media platforms.

“Ryan’s considerable talents as a reporter, along with the experience, knowledge and relationships he developed over his long tenure covering the Redskins, enable him to provide breaking news, expert analysis and insider content to our digital properties,” says Mark Lapidus, CSN VP of Digital Media. “His addition to our talented group of writers, reporters, and producers solidifies our position as the top destination for area sports fans.”

Prior to joining CSN, O’Halloran covered the Redskins for five seasons for The Washington Times, where he wrote daily stories, weekly columns, online blogs and other digital content surrounding the team from 2005 to 2009. He also contributed to the paper’s coverage of the Washington Capitals and the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, as well as other sports and events.

O’Halloran was a sports reporter for the Newport News Daily Press for three years from 2002 to 2005, where he covered the Redskins and Virginia Tech football. He was also a sports reporter for the Glens Falls (NY) Post-Star for two-and-a-half years and the Manhattan Mercury for two years from 1998 to 2000, where he covered Kansas State University athletics. A native of West Fargo, ND, O’Halloran earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Kansas State University and resides in Ashburn, VA.
