NAB Preview: Aspera, EMC To Present High-Speed File-Transfer Solutions

Following a record year for software deployments and technology integration in the digital-media and broadcast space, Aspera will showcase upcoming developments and extensions to its high-performance file-transfer environment at NAB. Based on the company’s core transport technology, the new Aspera Cargo personal client provides users with an easy-to-use, e-mail–like interface for efficient file delivery to individuals. The upcoming fasp-AIR product line will enable companies to empower their contributors with high-speed file transfer to/from mobile devices at speeds up to three times faster than regular TCP over 3G networks. Also slated to be previewed at the show, the new Aspera Sync application sets new standards for enterprise-class file synchronization of remote data sets.

At the NAB Show, Aspera will team up with high-performance storage expert EMC to present ultra-high-speed file-transfer solutions capable of delivering multi-Gbps data transfers over wide area networks: transferring uncompressed HD video files from coast to coast in real time is becoming a reality.

As media companies turn to cloud-based services for improved efficiency and unprecedented scalability, Aspera is quickly becoming the de facto standard to move data to and from the cloud. Aspera On-Demand for Amazon Web Services enables users to take full advantage of Amazon’s elastic computing capabilities. Pioneering service providers are also leveraging Aspera’s next-generation transport to power their cloud-based offerings: Axceleon for 3D rendering, Panvidea for media transcoding, Zetta for massive storage capacity, and many more.
