The North Carolina State University Wolfpack baseball team opened the 2010 season with a new integrated video, scoring, and advertising display system designed, manufactured, and installed by Daktronics.

“The up-to-the-minute stats and graphic elements that the video board provides have really augmented our promotional efforts to make gameday at Dail Park special for our fans,” says Dick Christy, Associate Athletic Director External Affairs. “Daktronics is an industry leader in this technology and truly offers a comprehensive solution.”

As the gates opened to a new baseball season, Wolfpack fans entering Doak Field were greeted by a new LED video display towering over the right field wall. Measuring approximately 16 feet high by 28 feet wide, the new video board can operate as an independent display showing single large images or be divided into multiple zones (windows) to show a wide variety of statistics, information, graphics, animations and live and recorded video.

Wolfpack fans are informed of game in progress information by a Daktronics scoreboard complete with low power, high brightness LED digits, and programmable team name displays.

Rounding out the system, Daktronics provided additional entertainment and information with a 44-foot-wide LED display located below the scoreboard. This display provides in-game information, out-of-town scores, promotional messages, and crowd prompts that create an interactive experience. Wolfpack sponsors will also have creative opportunities to get their messages across through motion graphics and other content.

“Daktronics has a valued long term relationship with North Carolina State University and we are excited to work with them again,” says Corey Williams, Daktronics Regional Sales Representative. “Dail Park is a great facility and we look forward to helping them utilize the new video and scoring display to enhance the fans gameday experience.”
