ESPN Set To Launch Live Gameday Network for College Basketball, Dubbed Buzzer Beater

On Saturday, ESPN will launch ESPN Buzzer Beater, a new HD network that features live cut-ins and highlights from numerous top college basketball games during each Wednesday and Saturday of the college basketball season, as well as breaking news and commentary from ESPN analysts.

Buzzer Beater marks ESPN’s second whip-around-style game-day channel, following ESPN Goal Line, which premiered during the 2010 college football season. Games featured on ESPN Buzzer Beater will include those airing on ESPN’s family of networks, as well as syndicated and locally-produced games from other conferences.

At launch, the network will be available to Time Warner Cable Sports Tier, Bright House Networks Customers, and Verizon FiOS TV Ultimate HD and Extreme HD Customers.  For the 2011 season, the ESPN Buzzer Beater programming will air every Saturday (Noon – 11 p.m. ET, from Jan. 8 – March 5) and every Wednesday (7 – 11 p.m. ET, from Jan. 12 – March 2) as well as Thursday, March 10 (Noon – 11 p.m. ET) and Friday, March 11 (Noon – 11 p.m. ET)

ESPN Buzzer Beater talent will include hosts Anish Shroff, Cindy Brunson, and Steve Bunin and analyst Tim McCormick.

Later this season ESPN Buzzer Beater will be available online through ESPN’s authenticated services, which are also available to Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, and Verizon FiOS TV HD subscribers.
