When it comes to RF spectrum congestion, New York City and Los Angeles are tops on the list of the most congested cities.  To alleviate this, CP Communications has added both the 2.4 GHz and 900 MHz Clear-Com Tempest Wireless Intercom systems to their rental inventory.

“We have added some very valuable tools to our shed,” says Michael Mason, President of CP Communications.  “The quantity of UHF technologies being used in TV, Theatre and Industrial Entertainment, as well as the DTV stations occupying the same spectrum, is tremendous.  We continually look for ways to alleviate UHF usage and Tempest allows us to do just that.  Each Tempest system used saves as many as six UHF frequencies that would be used by competitive products.”

CP Communications deployed a 900 MHz system for ESPN’s coverage of the 2011 NFL Draft and for TLC’s coverage of the Royal Wedding.

“One system worked inside for the draft and the other worked outside in Times Square. Both systems worked without fault,” Mason says of the Draft coverage. “The Clear-Com Tempest utilizes Spread Spectrum Frequency Hopping technology in both of the ISM frequency bands.  The Tempest is also a four-channel five-drop system, which allowed us to deploy less hardware then usual to accomplish the needs of ESPN for the NFL draft and TLC at the Royal Wedding coverage.”

Kurt Heitmann, SVP of Sales and Marketing adds: “We are extremely pleased with these new wireless intercom systems. They are already proving to be a very valuable addition to our rental inventory and we cannot keep them on the shelf!  We highly recommend them.”
