ESPN Senior Vice President for Digital and Print Media Rob King announced that John Korpics, most recently the Creative Director of Fortune magazine, has been named Vice President/Creative Director for Print & Digital Media, beginning September 6.

A two-time National Magazine Award winner in the Design category, Korpics will work with ESPN The Magazine Editor-in-Chief Chad Millman in overseeing the magazine’s design group, and will also provide a long-term vision for the editorial integration of the design and photo teams across all platforms.

“John is one of the most talented and accomplished creative directors in the content industry,” said King. “His experience across a wide range of subjects, as well as his track record in redesign and branding, will be a tremendous creative resource that will enable us to best deliver to our audience across all our platforms.”

“I’m thrilled to have John joining our team,” said Millman. “There’s been a great creative energy here since we moved our operations to Bristol last month, and John’s arrival will give us another great jolt that will enable ‘The Mag’ to continue providing great content in exciting, interesting ways for our readers.”

In addition to his work at Fortune, Korpics has also served as the Creative Director for bothInStyle and Esquire magazines, with his work at Esquire earning one of his two National Magazine Award honors for Design as well as a “Magazine of the Year” award from the Society of Publication Designers (SPD).

Prior to that, he spent four years as Design Director for Entertainment Weekly, where he captured his first National Magazine Award, and also worked as Art Director for GQ, Premiere and Musician magazines.

A native of Philadelphia, Korpics is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.
