Behind the Mic: Erin Andrews Replaces Pam Oliver as Fox’s NFL A-Game Sideline Reporter

Earlier this week, SI.com broke the news that Fox will replace long-time NFL A-game sideline reporter Pam Oliver with Erin Andrew for the upcoming football season. Andrews joins Joe Buck and Troy Aikman as Fox’s top broadcasting team and will step away from her role as host of Fox Sports 1’s college football pregame show.

Oliver, meanwhile will move to the No. 2 team working with play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and analyst John Lynch for her 20th season at Fox. In addition, she has been elevated to “senior correspondent. In this new position, she “expands her influence beyond the NFL to include the wide breadth of sports and events covered by FOX Sports year-round, with her exclusive interviews, commentary and essays featured on a variety of FOX Sports programs and platforms, including FOX NFL SUNDAY, FOX SPORTS LIVE, AMERICA’S PREGAME, FOX SPORTS 1 ON 1, college football and basketball and FOXSports.com.”…

…The SEC Network has finalized its 2014 football commentating line-up and added several names in the process. Heisman winning quarterback Andre Ware and former Georgia lineman Matt Stinchcomb have both signed multi-year agreements to join the network as college football analysts when it launches August 14, 2014. Tony Barnhart, Tom Hart, Kaylee Hartung and Dave Neal have also been added to the roster. …Holly Sonders has joined FOX Sports to serve its family of channels as a golf reporter and host of the network’s coverage of the USGA championships beginning in 2015. Sonders will also serve as a sideline reporter during NFL coverage. She joins host Joe Buck and analyst Greg Norman as members of the FOX Sports Golf team. Sonders joins FOX Sports from the Golf Channel/NBC, where she co-hosted Morning Drive, a daily golf talk show and School of Golf. …Veteran host James Duthie will join CFL ON TSN for a slate of marquee events, including the playoffs and the 102nd GREY CUP.
