SMT Appoints C.J. Bottitta as New Executive Director of Video Production Services

SMT (SportsMEDIA Technology), a provider of data integration, graphics presentation and video enhancement solutions to live sports and entertainment television and events, has announced that C.J. Bottitta has been promoted to executive director of its Video Production Services department. Bottitta most recently served as coordinating producer for (n+1) designstudio, SMT’s creative services division.

As executive director, Bottitta will leverage his extensive production background to lead a team of broadcast specialists and technicians who will utilize SMT’s proprietary data integration software to deliver scoring and TV interfaces, video display solutions and graphics production services for major sporting and entertainment events.

SMT’s VPS department has serviced clients across the globe, delivering video display and graphics production services for golf and tennis majors, motor sports, horse racing, baseball, football, basketball, and racing events.

Bottitta has more than 20 years’ experience in the media industry and his work has been honored with 13 national Emmy Awards for sports TV production and graphics. Prior to joining SMT, he served as director of operations in MLB Network’s creative services department, where he was instrumental in the network’s launch and development of the Emerging Technology initiatives. In addition, he won a regional Emmy Award for his work as lead producer for the debut of pregame and postgame shows in Fox’s largest regional cable network in Atlanta.

Bottitta earned a bachelor’s degree from Marist College. He is a member of PromaxBDA, the Sports Video Group and the Baseball Industry Network. A native of Long Island, N.Y., Bottitta resides in Apex, N.C.
