Cambridge Imaging Systems’ Imagen Manages, Distributes Valuable Sports Media

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome Cambridge Imaging Systems as a corporate sponsor. Headquartered in the UK, Cambridge Imaging Systems develops enterprise video platform software and secure video hosting services to manage all size collections of media.

Cambridge Imaging Systems have been at the forefront of media management software since 1991. The company’s award-winning technology platforms were initially developed to deliver mission critical services to the Ministry of Defence before being extended to commercial applications in 2001. Since then, Cambridge Imaging Systems’ software systems have been deployed in large-scale projects for corporate and government clients including BBC, Channel 4, British Library, British film Institute, The Imperial War Museum, Endemol, IMG Sports Video Archive, the ATP World Tour Archive, and many more.

The company’s flagship product Imagen is an off-the-shelf end-to-end secure video hosting platform for archiving and publishing media via a customizable website. Imagen is a highly scalable solution for managing, archiving, and distributing audio-visual assets that offers a full set of tools to ingest, catalog, transcode, and distribute content through a fully customizable website.

“We are delighted to be a part of Sports Video Group. Our flagship product Imagen is at the heart of sports media preservation and we’re excited to be playing a key role in shaping the future of sports media management,” says Ian Mottashed, Marketing Director. “With Imagen’s feature list allowing sports organizations to maximize ROI through fan subscription, clip sales, and broadcast rights, preserving the greatest sporting moments for audiences across the globe is now a simple and safe solution.”

RaceTech, a supplier of technical and broadcast services to the British horseracing industry, chose ImagenCloud as its video publishing platform for in-house use by its racecourse customers. Their system needed to have a professional-looking front end, guarantee optimum security, and be quick to learn and deploy. The company required a secure content management and publishing system that would allow them to share media with their racecourse clients, including clips and edits from racecourse TV to demonstrate what is possible and how it can add to the racecourse experience, as a showcase for RaceTech’s facilities and capabilities, creating their own theme design.

“We chose ImagenCloud because it allows us to provide a customized, branded experience to our racecourse clients,” says Mark Johnson, Head of Engineering, RaceTech. “It was incredibly easy to set up — we took the system from vanilla to the RaceTech brand in just a few hours — and it’s easy for our clients to login, search, and stream content, whether on their laptops, tablets, or smart phones.”
