CAT Entertainment Services Powers Papal Visit

CAT Entertainment Services (CES) was commissioned to provide large-scale power generation and temperature control for Pope Francis’ historic visit to the Unites States.

On Sept. 24, CES was tasked with providing HVAC and Technical Services for the Pope’s Evening Prayer service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The following day, CES provided power for the Pope’s visit to the United Nations and the concert that followed. CAT Entertainment Services was also on-hand for the Multi-religious Service at the 9/11 Memorial. On the last night of Pope Francis’ visit to New York City, a team of CES technicians worked behind the scenes to ensure flawless power for the Mass at Madison Square Garden. Approximately 18,000 people were in attendance.

In Philadelphia, ESM Productions was responsible for managing and executing all facets of the two closing events for the Eighth World Meeting of Families. The closing events included the Festival of Families, an intercultural celebration of family life around the world, held on Saturday, September 26, and a Papal Mass held on Sunday, September 27. ESM tasked CES with providing HVAC and Technical Services for both events. At the Festival of Families Concert Pope Francis’ was treated to performances by Andrea Bocelli, Aretha Franklin and several other world-renowned artists.

The following night CES powered the Festival of Families Papal Mass attended by an estimated one million people. Major networks and affiliate broadcast were all powered by CES and its dedicated team of technicians.
