CCW 2015 Preview: A Peek At What’s To Hit The Exhibit Floor (Part 2)

Content & Communications World (CCW) 2015 kicks off next week at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City and with the power of NAB now behind the show, it promises to be one of the largest media, entertainment, video and communications technology conference on the East Coast this year.

Over 300 exhibiting companies are expected to show their wares, offering content creators a chance to catch up on some of the year’s biggest product announcements and debuts from NAB and IBC earlier this year. In addition, some companies will make some key product announcements and debuts.

Among those on hand are many of SVG’s sponsors companies. Here’s a quick look at what some of those tech vendors are planning for the big show.

ccwAdobe
As professionals and consumers create demand for more content on more devices, finding cost-effective, efficient ways to create that content is an ongoing challenge. Quantum
The new Xcellis next-generation shared workflow storage system from Quantum will make its debut at CCW 2015. Introduced to the market in October, this new system empowers users to boost their efficiency, productivity and creativity in delivering the products and services that drive their business. Consolidating media and metadata management, extending connectivity options and supporting hosted applications, Xcellis integrates the most important components of workflow storage into a single compact hardware solution that runs on the powerful Quantum StorNext 5 media workflow platform. This solution supports online work in process, ingest and delivery, and archive through Quantum’s portfolio of Lattus object storage, LTO tape and Q-Cloud services, all running on StorNext 5.

Avid
Avid will showcase its latest innovations that solve the media industry’s most critical challenges, enabling everyone—from individual artists and creative teams to the world’s largest media enterprises—to create, distribute, and manage content in a way that helps them get more value from their media assets. Attendees will learn how Avid is building comprehensive solutions to enable more collaborative and efficient workflows for media organizations and creative professionals with innovations including Avid DNxHR, Avid Artist | DNxIO, Avid ISIS | 1000, and Orad TD Control.

MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems
MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems will demonstrate new features and functionality for its field-tested product line of camera-mounted, rack mountable, and standalone audio and video signal transceivers, and show a new signal transport module for PTZ camera systems at CCW. The new products and feature enhancements are all part of MultiDyne’s company-wide “Fiber First” initiative that will spotlight a range of new and existing products that leverage the convenience and performance benefits of moving audio, video and communications signals over fiber-optic cable.

Panasonic
Panasonic will be showing cameras ranging from HD PTZs to 4K studio cameras, addressing a very broad spectrum of HOW applications. The company will also have its premier AV-HS6000 2ME production switcher on hand. Cameras on display will include the VariCam 35 4K camera/recorder, the new AG-DVX200PJ 4K handheld camcorder, the new AW-UE70 4K PTZ, and the new AK-UC3000 4K studio camera; the new AJ-PX380 P2 AVC-ULTRA shoulder-mount and AJ-PX270 P2 AVC-ULTRA handheld camcorders; the AW-HE40 and AW-HE130 HD PTZs, and AW-HEA10 wide-angle PTZ camera remote control.

Adorama
Attendees can stop by the Adorama booth to learn more about professional solutions for photographers and filmmakers, production studios, broadcasting, and post houses. Representatives from Adorama’s dedicated sales team will be onsite to discuss corporate account management and easy procurement options through customer portals.  Adorama Rental Co. and Adorama Trade experts will also be available to meet with attendees.

arvato Systems
VPMS is the enterprise-class Media Asset Management system deployed to broadcasting customers on several continents and was recognized with a Best of Show award at the 2015 NAB Show. VPMS connects users and business systems with the broadcasting infrastructure and orchestrates and automates end-to-end workflows for ingest, quality control, production, archive, and distribution to playout. arvato Systems will also be showcasing EditMate, the innovative and award-winning suite of tools for collaborative editing and project management within Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Also available will be the ClipJOCKEY studio production tool, which controls video servers and VTRs to deliver endless possibilities for production and playout workflows.

Boland Communications
OLED is the name of the game for Boland this fall. In addition to their BVB17OLED and BVB25OLED models, Boland is excited to announce that the next generation BVB55OLED has started to ship. Similar to the smaller models, the new 55″ features a full HD, true 10-bit OLED screen, and is loaded with Boland’s quality package of high-end attributes: 3G SDI, professional scopes, 4:4:4 color, audio de-embedding, closed caption decoding, and built-in audio. Like all BVB Series models, these special units support multiple color spaces, including 709, 601, EBU, and DCinema / P3.

Boland will also be displaying LED models: the BVB17, which is perfect for shading and color grading, the LVB17 and PVB20, developed for both television production and on-set needs, and the BVB07 and BVB09 models, smaller, more affordable DayBrites manufactured specifically to be used outdoors in “daylight challenging” environments.

Dalet
Turn your production into a media publishing factory thanks to the Dalet Galaxy MAM, which now publishes directly to all your linear and non-linear media outlets, including social media. The new Dalet Media Packages module simplifies the management and distribution of complex assets, and the workflow engine automates both back-office and user tasks.

Dalet AmberFin, the orchestrated media processing platform, now natively supports UHD /4K, as well as the extraction & insertion of subtitle and caption data to and from .SCC and .STL formats.

Dalet Brio, the innovative and cost-effective i/o platform, now comes with IP streaming, latest generation hardware, and fully supports ingest to cloud storage.

IHSE USA
IHSE USA will be displaying new products for 4K DisplayPort, SDI + KVM Switching, and advanced USB port switching. IHSE will also be presenting information about the company’s new award-winning 576 Port KVM switch for 4KVM and SDI switching. Visitors will be able to see real-time KVM switching of DisplayPort, HDMI, Balanced Audio, and USB 2.0 keyboard/mouse sharing via tera tool software.

ImmediaTV
ImmediaTV announced the general availability of its new RX100 series of receiver-decoders. They are available as both openGear cards and in a standalone form factor. The RX100 decoders support legacy broadcast applications as well as many new ones as well. These include: transmitting video over IP networks and the Internet and receiving signals from IP cameras that will be broadcast over a television network. It is the first decoder to have such broad support of IP protocols including Adobe Flash, Apple HLS, RTSP (security camera), UDP, and RTP.

Pronology
Pronology, a developer of cutting-edge tapeless workflow solutions, will showcase its new Location Intelligence feature for its flagship media asset management (MAM) system at CCW 2015 (Booth 957). Location Intelligence assists those working in the field by streamlining workflow for various production applications, spanning from an ENG truck all the way to post production. Ideal for editors and producers, Location Intelligence lets a user determine at a glance whether the content required is available immediately or needs to be transferred. This ensures the most efficient use of bandwidth and storage resources.

Thinklogical
Thinklogical will be demonstrating TLX, its new 10Gbps KVM signal management platform. TLX is the first KVM in the market to deliver extension and switching of uncompressed, full resolution, full color depth 4K DCI video (4096 x 2160 resolution, 4:4:4 color depth) at 60Hz frame rate using only two cables, the fewest in the industry. TLX gives broadcast and postproduction customers unsurpassed high-bandwidth performance and a flexible, efficient, and modular hybrid signal architecture supporting both fiber-optic and CATx connectivity. This reduces the cost and infrastructure required to extend and distribute video content created in 4K and ultra-high-definition (UHD) formats without compromising image quality, video resolution, or system usability and performance.

TVU Networks
TVU Networks will showcase its popular video-over-IP solutions at CCW. In its booth will be the TVU One mobile IP newsgathering transmitter and the company’s flagship TVUPack TM8200 mobile uplink backpack transmitter. Just introduced at NAB this April, TVU One is already in full production and shipping in large quantity. TVU Networks provides a full portfolio of video-over-IP solutions designed to give broadcasters innovative, flexible and reliable tools to acquire live video content from anywhere and distribute it to anywhere.

VITEC
VITEC, a worldwide leader in advanced video encoding and streaming solutions, recently announced that the NBA’s Orlando Magic have installed VITEC’s IPTV Sports Venue Solution, which includes the EZ TV IPTV middleware, HD Blade Encoders, and VITEC’s IPTV set-top-boxes at Amway Center, the team’s home arena. The installation was part of an upgrade to the arena’s video and signage systems, during which the organization decided to change from an all-signage system with over 1,000 displays to a best-of-breed hybrid of a cutting-edge IPTV solution and dedicated digital signage system. Those solutions will be on display at this year’s CCW.
