The latest developments in streaming, mobile, and more were the focus of SVG’s fourth-annual Digital Sports Summit, which drew more than 180 attendees on Sept. 22 to a day-long session in New York. The morning sessions kicked off with a keynote speech by New Meadowlands Stadium CTO Peter Brickman and New York Giants Entertainment VP/Executive Producer Don Sperling, who provided an inside look at the stadium’s efforts in serving today’s digital fan.
Industry leaders from leagues, teams, and networks discussed their evolving digital strategies during a pair of panels that featured top technology executives from Comcast Sports Group, ESPN3.com, MLB Advanced Media, NASCAR.com, the NHL, NBC Sports, Penn State University, and the YES Network. In addition, a quartet of panels throughout the day addressed the skyrocketing use of handheld devices, streaming-media formats, online-content protection, and the evolving living room.
