ESPN, X Games, Coordinating Producer

Phil Orlins has served as the Coordinating Producer of the X Games telecasts since 2006, overseeing a period of critical and ratings success for this popular franchise.  The last four X Games (2 Winter and 2 Summer) have each set new standards as the highest rated and most viewed in ESPN history.  In 2008 the X Games won the New York Film Festival Gold Medal for Best Sports Special and was nominated for an Emmy award in the prestigious Outstanding Live Sports Special category.

Prior to his current position Orlins was a producer for the Winter X Games from 1997 through 2006 and the X Games in 2004 and 2005.  In addition to his X Games credits Orlins’ produced ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball telecasts from 1994 through 2003 as well as producing ESPN’s MLB playoffs and All-Star Home Run Derby telecasts.

Orlins has won several Sports Emmy Awards – including the 1996 award for Live Sports Special for ESPN’s telecast of Cal Ripken, Jr.’s record-breaking 2131st consecutive game played.
